About Us

Dedicated Diabetes Education

Sonia Willis RGN, is an Independent Nurse practicing at the Stag Medical Centre in Rotherham, specialising in the care and management of people with Diabetes and / or Cardiovascular Disease (CVD). Having acquired extensive experience over many years in the management of Long-Term Conditions, she continues to maintain and develop the necessary knowledge and skills to facilitate learning for other Health Care Professionals of all disciplines. Understanding how difficult it can be for "generalists" to be "good at everything" she has made it her mission to provide easy to understand education in the Diabetes and CVD specialisms. Facilitating groups of various sizes, she helps to develop the confidence and competence of delegates to apply evidence-based interventions when reviewing people with Diabetes and/ or CVD. After attending a course, clinicians can be certain of being much more effective in their consultations, by using proven communication techniques that support and guide people towards improved self-management of their health condition. This is with the overarching aim of reducing risks of potential associated health complications.

"Attended the two day Diabetes Foundation course. There was a diverse cross section of attendees with varying levels of knowledge, experience and expertise which can be difficult when pitching a training course for the many. Sonia delivered the course for all attendees with ease and with plenty of humour, backed up with excellent knowledge. How much you learn, understand and retain is often down to just how well it's taught - I know I've learned a lot, and retained far more than I usually do. Thank you."  KR - 2017
